primary sources
This page features primary sources written by the Islamic State (IS), the Sunni Muslim Salafi-Jihadist organization that perpetrated the 2014 Yazidi Genocide. These documents outline IS' violent interpretation of Islam, its views toward different religious beliefs, and its justifications for committing genocide against the Yazidi community. Given that many of these sources are propaganda and are extreme in their ideological views, they will be preceded by explanatory text that situates them in their historical, religious, and political contexts.
These sources are featured in alphabetical order. New sources will be added in the future as they are researched and translated.
